The questions for the main UBF program have been posted on the “Bible Study Materials” page on the menu in pdf format.

As a second note, we needed to migrate the conference information site to a new hosting area. If there is a broken link or feature, please let S. David Jumeau (djumeau[at]gmail.com) know.

Thanks!

Alternative Housing

Filed under: Announcements — admin at 8:37 am on Friday, June 13, 2008

Due to the some requests and in the event of housing is full, some people have been inquiring about other places to stay during conference time. You can attend the conference at a hotel and register for a commuter fee of $100 for the food services and to cover other fees. Please inform your regional manager to set you up for a commuter rate.

Here are some hotel rates around the Purdue University area:

Campus Inn : starting at $55 per night.
Hilton : starting at $120 per night.

Both are located within a few blocks (2-3 miles / 1KM) of the campus.

A good website to find other hotels and details at the following link:

Early Bird Fees Extended to June 30th!

Filed under: Announcements — admin at 5:25 am on Friday, June 13, 2008

We praise and thank God for his blessing on our 2008 UBF Purdue International Conference Preparation thus far. As of June 2, 3,059 people have registered and among them 973 are foreign delegates. These many people could register because of your fervent prayer. Our registration system shut down by June 2nd 12:00 Midnight for 9 days and will reopen again by June 10th. Purdue University promised us to provide 3,400 beds for our conference. That means there are only 349 beds left. After a long negotiation with Purdue Uni., Purdue Uni. agreed not to raise the registration fee after June 10. However, once 3,400 beds are filled, we will close registration. Please, be aware of this and register when it reopens.

Now we need your continuous prayer support for messengers, three world mission nights, booths, transportation and post-conference tours. May God’s name be honored and glorified through the Purdue International Conference.

Important notice about HBF/MBF - Updated

Purdue Housing for teenagers (HBF, MBF)

Dear co-workers and parents who are planning to bring teenagers to Purdue:

Our deadline for all UBF housing assignments at Purdue is Sunday, June 1st, by midnight.

For children ages 11-18, there is only one residence hall designated for housing, and those children will be assigned manually by our HBF/MBF coordinators (Sam Toh/Yvette Shin). Purdue strictly requires that UBF provide one adult chaperone for every ten children, and those chaperones must live with the children in that residence hall.

If North American parents bring children aged 10 and under, they will have to find their own housing off campus. Purdue’s residence halls have a common bathroom/shower on each floor. When these public showers are shared by adults living on those floors, Purdue does not allow children 10 and under to live there.

Also, please be advised that we have no program for children aged 5 and under, so a legal parent or guardian will have to be with such children at all times while on campus.

If parents not from North America bring children aged 10 and under, only they should select “family housing” on the housing page of the registration system. One of our conference workers will manually assign these international families a room in the Union Club Hotel on campus. To stay in one of those rooms, the costs are significantly higher. Per room, the cost will be $327, in addition to the regular adult/youth conference fees. We can only offer these rooms to international families, as space is limited.

If you plan to make changes to your child’s housing arrangements (those attending the HBF/MBF conferences), you must do so before midnight on Sunday, June 1st. After that time, changes to housing will incur penalty charges.

As a reminder, the registration fee for children 14-18 is $150.

For children under 14, the fee is $125.

Also, traveling back and forth between the two conferences will not be permitted, except during the evening programs.

Refunds for registration, adult or child, are possible only until July 3rd.

Questions regarding this announcement should be referred directly to:

For HBF: Sam Toh (stoh83@gmail.com);

For CBF: Yvette Shin (yvetteshin@yahoo.com) or Rebecca Choi (rdchoi@gmail.com).
