Important notice about HBF/MBF - Updated
Purdue Housing for teenagers (HBF, MBF)
Dear co-workers and parents who are planning to bring teenagers to Purdue:
Our deadline for all UBF housing assignments at Purdue is Sunday, June 1st, by midnight.
For children ages 11-18, there is only one residence hall designated for housing, and those children will be assigned manually by our HBF/MBF coordinators (Sam Toh/Yvette Shin). Purdue strictly requires that UBF provide one adult chaperone for every ten children, and those chaperones must live with the children in that residence hall.
If North American parents bring children aged 10 and under, they will have to find their own housing off campus. Purdue’s residence halls have a common bathroom/shower on each floor. When these public showers are shared by adults living on those floors, Purdue does not allow children 10 and under to live there.
Also, please be advised that we have no program for children aged 5 and under, so a legal parent or guardian will have to be with such children at all times while on campus.
If parents not from North America bring children aged 10 and under, only they should select “family housing” on the housing page of the registration system. One of our conference workers will manually assign these international families a room in the Union Club Hotel on campus. To stay in one of those rooms, the costs are significantly higher. Per room, the cost will be $327, in addition to the regular adult/youth conference fees. We can only offer these rooms to international families, as space is limited.
If you plan to make changes to your child’s housing arrangements (those attending the HBF/MBF conferences), you must do so before midnight on Sunday, June 1st. After that time, changes to housing will incur penalty charges.
As a reminder, the registration fee for children 14-18 is $150.
For children under 14, the fee is $125.
Also, traveling back and forth between the two conferences will not be permitted, except during the evening programs.
Refunds for registration, adult or child, are possible only until July 3rd.
